Originally, I wanted to bring good things from Japan to the world through the web and VR, and I was supporting Japanese companies in their expansion into English-speaking countries. When I became pregnant, I developed gestational diabetes.
Such gestational diabetes made me more aware of my health when I learned that the risk of diabetes in the future was as high as 70%. I started drinking green tea and matcha, which is said to be effective against visceral fat, and that was my first encounter with matcha. As I researched, I learned that matcha is a very nutritious super drink that Japan is proud of, and I wanted to spread the word about it.
Matcha became my life’s passion, and I was fascinated by not only its health benefits, but also its relaxing effects on the mind. I also studied the tea ceremony, and as I delved deeper into the world of matcha, I became aware of an important lesson for modern Japanese people. That is the importance of finding one’s own happiness, not by comparing oneself with others, good or bad.
Matcha and the tea ceremony provide us with precious time to nurture our spiritual richness and release us from the stresses of everyday life. We hope to bring this wonderful experience to everyone in today’s busy lives. Through matcha, we also share the spirit of ikigai, which is highly acclaimed overseas, and support people in enriching their lives both mentally and physically.
Through our matcha business, we hope to bring health and spiritual enrichment to people around the world and spread traditional Japanese culture and the spirit of ikigai.
